Get to Know Seth

We caught up with Seth to get a sneak peek into his session at the Builders’ Show and get to know him a little better.

What information or actionable takeaways can attendees expect to walk away with from your session?

As the saying goes “there are two ways to skin a cat” and the architects on this panel will each present viable and compelling solutions that address key trends and topics relevant to the industry. While there can only be one “winner” in the moment, all the content is sure to strike a chord and generate thoughts on ways to add interest and excitement to your homes.

What are you most looking forward to at IBS?

I always look forward to the great education programs provided each year, connecting with colleagues and seeing the new and exciting products.

What advice would you give to someone attending the Builders’ Show for the first time?

Research the programs that you want to attend in advance and put together an agenda. Without a game plan of how to spend your day, it can be overwhelming, so you end up missing out on some great programs.

Where is the best place to be at IBS? Why?

I really enjoy Design Central because there are a lot of interesting presentations going on throughout the day, you can get inspired by all of the BALA finalists that are showcased, and it’s a great place to catch up with colleagues between events.

What is the most interesting 2023 industry trend?

There has been a heightened focus on healthy homes and sustainability across the industry. Whether it’s a reaction to market demand or a sense of responsibility of the builder, it’s a really positive trend in the industry.

The industry has changed so much in the last five years. What changes do you think we’ll see in the next five years?

I believe that we will see continued growth in leveraging technology as design resources, sales tools and construction. Panelization has been really growing as a way to speed up the construction process as well as offering further precision and I see that continuing to grow in popularity and as a great opportunity for continued innovation.

What do you think is the biggest challenge in the industry right now?

Attainability is one of the biggest challenges facing the industry. How to create great homes that meet the market needs at a price that the average family can afford is a real challenge.

Seth’s session is “The Blueprint: An Inspirational Roadmap for Creating Sales Through Design in 2023,” a Super Session at the Builders’ Show. It’s happening Feb 1, 10:30 – 11:30 AM. Register for the Builder’s Show Expo+Education Pass or a 1-Day Education Pass for Jan 31 to attend Seth’s session.
