NAHB Education: Sunday’s Line-Up

Sixteen NAHB Education Courses will be offered before the start of the 2020 NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS). These one- and two-day courses give you a chance to dive deeper into specific industry topics and to increase your skill set.

The NAHB Education Courses available on Sunday, January 19 include:

Principles of Residential Marketing: Research & Analysis Classroom | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Developing a new home community that is successful begins with market research and a solid plan. This one-day course will help you gain a deeper understanding of the key aspects of adaptability, evaluations, level of control and flexibility to achieve successful development projects. NOTE: The online course (Part I) must be completed separately and is a prerequisite for taking this classroom course.

Estimating and Scheduling for Profitable Business Operations | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Because the ability to prepare for a project is vital to its overall success, this course illustrates how estimating and scheduling work together to set up a project effectively. Gain greater efficiencies and protect profitability by learning the fundamentals of these two critical processes.

Marketing and Sales for Building Professionals | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Today’s customers are demanding and selective and, thanks to the world of technology, they are also well educated. So how do you stand out from the crowd? This one-day course will provide an overview of the many types of marketing and sales tools available to help build your unique brand, so you can engage potential customers, clients and referral partners to choose your product or remodeling services.

Design Concepts for Livable Homes and Aging In Place (CAPS II) | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
There is an increased desire among today’s homeowners to stay in their homes and living comfortably for as long as possible, which has created a high demand for these types of products and services. The goal of this one-day course is to help you identify common challenges within the home and understand attractive design concepts that create a safe and comfortable environment for clients who wish to age in place.

Spokesperson Training Part II: Presentation Skills | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This training is designed to help building industry professionals deliver a message in a thoughtful, effective way. Part II provides approaches to organizing and delivering a successful speech or presentation to various audiences. NOTE: This is Part II of a two-day course, with Part I held on Saturday.
