NAHB Education: Saturday’s Line-Up

Sixteen NAHB Education Courses will be offered before the start of the 2020 NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS). These one- and two-day courses give you a chance to dive deeper into specific industry topics and to increase your skill set.

The NAHB Education Courses available on Saturday, January 18 include:

Universal Design Essentials | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This course shifts the focus from custom accessibility-related modifications to successfully integrating Universal Design as part more single-family projects—both new construction and remodeling. The concepts discussed in this course will enable industry professionals to produce marketable projects that support the changing needs of clients over their lifetime.

Marketing & Communicating with the Aging in Place Client (CAPS I) | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Millions of Americans are living longer and more active lives, and because they are embracing their new lifestyles, they are seeking ways to revitalize their home environment—for current and projected needs. This one-day course will provide you with the knowledge and tools to effectively market and sell services to the aging in place (AIP) markets.

Project Management | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
A successful project is one that is built on time, on budget and to the customer’s satisfaction. This one-day course will help you learn project management concepts and strategies designed to increase your professionalism and the value you bring to your company and consumers.

Financial Management | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This course gives building industry professionals tools to help them examine different financial pieces of their business to help them make better decisions. You will learn how to improve productivity and increase profits by learning the ins and outs of annual operating plans and budgets, financial reports, forecasting and more.

Spokesperson Training Part I: Question & Answer Skills for Business & Media | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This training helps building industry professionals deliver their message in a thoughtful, effective way. Part I will help you master strategies for developing key messages and delivering them effectively for various platforms—from print to social media to in-person business meetings. (Part II is offered on Sunday.)
