Time and again, countless building industry
professionals, remodelers, architects and designers have indicated that
attending the NAHB International
Builders’ Show®
(IBS) annually is an integral component to their overall
career success. The product information, education and connections made with
other industry professionals are tools that stick with them long after the show
ends.

The Young
Professional Scholarship Program
was created to provide a valuable
opportunity for young professionals to attend IBS. The program is designed to
give young career-minded professionals with the resources and tools they need
to develop and improve their careers. Up to 20 NAHB young professionals will be
selected to receive scholarships to attend IBS 2017, January 10-12 in Orlando,
Florida.

Selected recipients
will receive:

  • One IBS full registration (includes education)
  • Economy airfare (up to $600)
  • One 4-night hotel stay (January 9-12, 2017)
  • One ticket to the Official IBS House Party
  • One ticket to the Young Professional After Hours
    Party

Required qualifications
to apply:

  • NAHB member in good standing
  • Between the ages of 21-35

Show attendance gives young professionals the ability to
connect with others, like themselves, from across the nation, which can be an
important component to the success of anyone’s career. Others in the industry
become valuable resources for product knowledge, problem solving and sounding
boards for many who attend IBS.

IBS 2016 YP
Scholarship recipients were able to expand their networks and grow
professionally at the show, here’s what a few of them had to say about their
experience:

“There was a Meet
& Greet for all of us scholarship attendees on the first night, and that
was so helpful. Many of us were in the same situation (first-time attendees who
didn’t know anyone), but we met at this event, exchanged phone numbers and hung
out the entire week together. It was awesome!”
– Amity Edwards, 918
Interiors, Tulsa, Oklahoma

“The Show was good
place for me to get a visual of all of the products available to builders. It
was great!”
Christina Sabin,
R.C. Krueger Development, Lincoln, Nebraska

“There are several
education tracks. While I was interested in Sales & Marketing, I could see
how the education sessions available could be extremely beneficial to a variety
of attendees.”
– Matt Fehrmann, Zgraph, Inc., Daytona, Florida
