What have others said about their experience speaking at the NAHB
International Builders’ Show® (IBS)?

“It
is so fulfilling to be able to share your unique knowledge and perspective as a
speaker at the International Builders’ Show, and to know that you are
contributing to the success of individuals and companies all across the country
and abroad.”

Mollie Elkman, Group Two Advertising

“It
is always an honor to get the opportunity to speak at International Builders’
Show. I love sharing best practices and participating in the education. The
preparation is no easy task, but the benefit is instant credibility and great
positioning in the industry as a thought leader."

Mike Lyon, Mike Lyon Group, Inc.

Submit your education proposal to speak at IBS 2017! The
selection process is competitive, so don’t wait to get started. Need help? This
year we improved the process with a new, more user-friendly online submission
system.

1. Review
the 2017 Request for Proposals (PDF)
: This document contains
detailed steps for submitting your proposal. Speaking opportunities are highly
competitive, so please review all information to ensure the best chance of
being selected.

2. Download
the Guide to Crafting Your Proposal (PDF)
: This guide will help
you prepare your education proposal. It contains a list of questions you will
be asked when submitting your proposal online.

3. Submit
Your Proposal
: Create your account and begin the submission process. All
submitters and speakers must create a new profile.

Proposals are due on April 15, but don’t wait until the last
minute to submit if you have more than one speaker, because session proposals
cannot be considered final until all speakers listed have verified their
participation.

What does this mean? Each speaker you add to a proposal will need to go into
the online submission system and check a box indicating their willingness to
speak as part of your session. Your speakers will receive an automatically
generated email instructing them to verify.

You may want to let them know in advance that they will need to do this. Do not
wait until the very last minute to submit your proposal, otherwise your
speakers will not have adequate time to verify their participation prior to the
deadline.

If you have any questions or would like to recommend a topic
or speaker, please contact Kirby Simmering at ksimmering@nahb.org. We can’t wait to see
your innovative ideas!
