Marvin Skycove and Marvin Awaken
Marvin was honored with not one, but two 2020 Best of IBS Awards! Their Marvin Skycove won Best Indoor Product and their Marvin Awaken Skylight won Best Window & Door Product.
Skycove by Marvin is a concept product that is planned for launch in April. It is the first fully constructed, projected glass window box structure that lets in more natural light, and the integrated bench provides 14 to 18 square feet of usable space. The cantilevered structure provides unique, elevated vantage points, and the top glass opens the view to the sky above. It has flexible design options, and arrives on the jobsite fully assembled—for a worry-free installation.
Here’s what a few of the Best of IBS judges had to say about Skycove:
“The Skycove is delivered as a singular unit and adds as much as 25 square feet to the home without the added hard cost of square footage.”
“This product is well-thought-out and has way too many pluses to list them all. The addition of usable square feet to small spaces by using a window is ingenious. Builders can install in a day and don’t have to be responsible for the warranty. It’s covered by Marvin just like their windows and doors. I love the light it will allow into a space.”
The Marvin Awaken Skylight is another concept product with a launch date of April. It is a modular, automated and customized unit designed with the homeowner’s well-being in mind. Here are a few of its features:
• Smart venting helps regular indoor temperatures automatically with sophisticated rain and CO2 sensors that determine the best times to be open and when to close.
• Automated operation in a number of ways: mobile app, voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant, or a simple wall switch.
• Extends natural light with customizable LED lighting that mimics daylight or creates a soft-lit gathering place.
Here’s what a few of the Best of IBS judges had to say about the Awakening Skylight:
“Venting skylight with lighting and shade options. Great indoor air quality (IAQ) feature, which monitors VOC, humidity, temperature and opens and closes to improve IAQ.”
“High tech meets traditional window opening with added tech features: LED lights, auto sensors and venting. I especially like the fact that it also has an environment sensor so when noxious fumes and odors build up, the unit vents the air and then closes when the fumes are gone.”
