The transformation is becoming easier to see at The New American Home in Henderson, NV. Exterior finishes are going on, solar panels are being installed and the driveway, hardscape and landscaping are coming together.
But it’s the landscape design that really brings this home to life.
At Blue Heron, TNAH builder, biophilic design is central to the vision: creating a stronger connection between people, their homes and the natural environment. For The New American Home 2027, that means taking inspiration from the surrounding Las Vegas desert and carrying it throughout the home’s outdoor spaces.
Bringing the Desert into the Design
The landscape, designed and installed by Gothic, draws on the natural beauty of the Mojave Desert while creating a distinctive transition from the surrounding environment to the home.
At the front of the property, sculptural agave and cacti establish a distinctly desert-inspired look. Sweeping areas of ornamental grasses add texture and movement, while an overlapping flagstone pattern creates the impression of a natural stream flowing toward the home.
As visitors approach the entrance, the landscape gradually shifts to a richer, lusher palette of darker greens. Large boulders integrated into the hardscape further blur the boundaries between the natural site and the home’s architecture.
The result is an outdoor environment that feels connected to its surroundings while complementing the home’s contemporary design.
Where Architecture & Nature Meet
Every landscape detail feels intentional, from the placement of natural stone to the transition between plant materials and architectural finishes.
The goal: a seamless relationship between the exterior and interior, creating a cohesive design that extends beyond the home walls.
Gothic is coordinating irrigation, site drainage and hardscape preparation as the landscape takes shape. With multiple elements progressing at once, the exterior is quickly moving from a construction site to a finished outdoor living environment.
