Get to Know Mark
We caught up with Mark to get a sneak peek into his session at the Builders’ Show and get to know him better.
What information or actionable takeaways can attendees expect to walk away with from your session?
Attendees will gain insight into expanding their business operations from solely build for sale into the burgeoning sector of build-for-rent. Attendees will receive a clear action plan to identify potential land opportunities and leverage their existing vendor and trade partner relationships to grow their business into a new portion of the housing ecosystem.
What are you most looking forward to at IBS?
IBS provides wonderful educational opportunities and great information about vendors and products that are always useful in my business.
What advice would you give someone attending the Builders’ Show for the first time?
My advice to first-time attendees is to start early and make a plan to navigate the show. The IBS Mobile App is a great tool to help plan your educational opportunities and create a sensible route to meet the many wonderful vendors at the show.
Where is the best place to be at IBS? Why?
IBS Centrals and IBS Education are great hubs to help your business and network with other industry professionals.
What is the most interesting 2024 industry trend?
The volatility in the mortgage and lending rate environment is one of the most interesting trends to watch in 2024.
The industry has changed so much in the last five years. What changes do you think we’ll see in the next five years?
I believe the next five years will bring more consolidation in all industry sectors and a little movement towards more componentized and off-site construction of portions of the home.
What do you think is the biggest challenge in the industry right now?
The growing regulatory overreach and rising compliance costs are two of the biggest industry challenges.
Mark’s Building Knowledge Sessions, Now’s the Time for Small & Mid-Sized Builders to Capitalize on Built-for-Rent is Feb 27, 8:30 – 9:30 AM.
