Things are heating up in Orlando and we’re not talking about the Florida temps. The New American Home 2026 (TNAH 2026), one of two official show homes of the 2026 NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS), is entering Phase 2 of construction. The build team is deep into the behind-the-walls magic that brings this spectacular show home to life.
The Current Focus
Jim Kranz, builder Alair Homes Orlando Partner shares that the current focus is on MEPs: mechanical, electrical and plumbing. All the trades are onsite and hard at work, running the essential systems that make a high performance home like this one function seamlessly. Once the MEP phase is complete, the next step is insulation — and that’s where cutting-edge spray foam from Inverge comes in to elevate energy efficiency and comfort.
Insulation is Only the Beginning
But insulation is just the start. Following that, a Fi-Foil radiant barrier will be installed to enhance thermal performance, especially important in the Florida climate. Then it’s time for drywall. It’s not your standard walls, either. This home is anything but ordinary.
Expect to see an array of finishes throughout: tile, Dekton surfaces on both floors and walls and even architectural cladding. Form concrete tiles will turn areas of this home into visual showstoppers.
And yes, the car enthusiasts are going to love this one. The basement includes, not only a car elevator and turntable (thanks to Carousel USA) for easy maneuverability but also car lifts to maximize storage and showcase a serious vehicle collection.
A lot is happening in this home and with a tight deadline and ambitious design, the build hasn’t been without its challenges. But thanks to the incredible team of vendors, trade professionals and cutting-edge product partners, things are taking shape fast.
