Get to Know Jeff
We caught up with Jeff to get a sneak peek into his session at the Builders’ Show and get to know him better.
What information or actionable takeaways can attendees expect to walk away with from your session?
This session is all about the reset in front of us. Builders must prepare for the changes in the economy that are affecting buyer behavior from coast to coast. We want to offer a Rally that is high energy and high enjoyment while at the same time offering the best “next practices” for the market to come.
What are you most looking forward to at IBS?
Reunions! So many great people in our industry, and IBS is the perfect place to reunite with old friends and meet new friends.
What advice would you give someone attending the Builders’ Show for the first time?
Ask a thousand questions. There are so many strong thinkers at this show. Come in with your curiosity muscle fully prepared to learn.
Where is the best place to be at IBS? Why?
For me, it’s the Sales Central lounge. Informal, interesting and all the brightest minds are there.
What is the most interesting 2024 industry trend?
The obvious answer is AI, but the hidden answer is the push towards an ease-of-use experience for the buyer. More and more builders and partners are beginning with the question, “What would this look like if it were easy?”
The industry has changed so much in the last five years. What changes do you think we’ll see in the next five years?
We can’t wait for the government to address the affordability crisis in the U.S. Builders will have to take the lead with creative planning, cost-reducing construction and lobbying municipalities in making housing more affordable.
What do you think is the biggest challenge in the industry right now?
It goes beyond our industry. Countless millions of Americans are one financial hit away from being homeless. Credit card debt is skyrocketing and personal savings are plummeting. The biggest reason it’s happening is housing costs.
Jeff’s Super Session, The Rally: An Immersive Journey Into the Future of New Home Sales is Feb 28, 1:30 – 3:30 PM.
