What area of the building industry do you represent?
McArthur Homes is a local, family-owned builder serving the Salt Lake City area. I’ve been in the business 11 years and have attended IBS four times, including the last three years in a row.

What was your 2014 NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) experience like?
In 2014, I was one of four panelists for the session, Secrets of the Internet Marketing All-Stars. I enjoyed being a presenter because it allowed me to give back to the industry.

While at IBS, I pack my schedule so I can make the most of those three days. I was at the Convention Center every morning by 8 a.m. so I could attend education sessions and walk the show floor. We also had a lot of fun participating in the social media contests that were going on during the Builders’ Show, and I even won a few prizes!

What do you find to be the most valuable aspects of attending IBS?
One of the most valuable aspects of IBS is the education sessions, which is why I try to attend every year. I’ve not been to any other conference where I’ve gotten as much solid information. I leave with pages of notes, and once I am home, I sift through them to determine what ideas I can implement this year.

Sales Central was one of my favorite aspects of the show this year. We had lunch there every day and took part in some of the mini-education session that were available. It is a great place to meet people and network with others that have a common interest within the industry.
