Vegas, Baby!
The main draw to the 2013 NAHB International Builders’ Show is obvious: world-class education sessions, the newest and most innovative products in the industry and networking opportunities that can’t be equaled anywhere. But visiting a world-class city is a nice perk of business travel, and few cities offer as much as Las Vegas.
Known for outstanding food, Broadway-quality shows, and more glittering lights and entertainment than just about anywhere in the world, Las Vegas offers something for everyone. Each hotel and building on the famous Strip houses its own treasures just waiting for discovery.
Looking to be entertained? Tickets to dozens of shows, from traditional musicals to acrobatics to concerts, are available every day in Las Vegas. Same-day tickets can be purchased at Tix4Tonight booths located all over town (open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.), and they’re normally offered at a handsome discount.
Have a favorite celebrity chef? There’s a good chance he or she has a restaurant in town. Jose Andres, Michel Richard, Mario Batali, Charlie Palmer, and Thomas Keller are just some of the culinary stars who’ve set down roots in town, and reservations are relatively easy to get at most of their restaurants. Look online to find the restaurant you’d like to visit and book your foodie fantasy!
No visit to Vegas would be complete without popping a few coins in a slot machine or putting a couple of chips down on a card table, and most hotels offer their own themed casinos in which to do that. Lady luck may just be with you! A complete directory is available online.
Lastly, don’t forget to pick up something special to take home, both for yourself and family members or friends. Las Vegas offers shopping for everyone, from the Cartier experience to the Old Navy budget, in a multitude of malls and centers—you’re sure to find that perfect memento of your time in the city!
