The 2020 New American Home®, The Official Show Home of IBS is complete! And like with every construction project, it had its own unique challenges. The biggest challenge involved the building schedule. Because the NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) occurs a month earlier than in 2019, the schedule needed to be shortened by four weeks.
“Building The New American Home was a real adventure,” says Carl Martinez, president of construction for Sun West Custom Homes—this year’s builder. “One of the biggest challenges was having so many personnel on site at the same time. It’s like controlled chaos, but I am managing the project and scheduling the subs so we could hit our target date.”
LG played a huge role in this year’s home, supplying the, appliances through LG SKS, solar panels, a projector screen and multiple televisions throughout the home. They also supplied the countertops through LG Hausys. “When you have a supplier like LG who can supply more than one phase of work, it makes it easier on us,” notes Martinez.
The home, located in the luxury-home development of Ascaya in Henderson, Nevada, features a single-level 7,683-square-foot floor plan with four-bedroom suites; a luxurious great room; and a kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, cabinetry and countertops. The outdoor entertainment area includes beautiful fire features, a large vanishing pool and spa with a wet deck.

Registered IBS 2020 attendees can tour The New American Home and The New American Remodel daily during show hours via complimentary shuttle buses departing every 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Convention Center.
