Through pictures and examples from job site evaluations, you’ll get a first-hand look at the problems and solutions; gain better insight on building enclosures, water and moisture issues; and identify mistakes that lead to poor energy performance, comfort and IAQ issues so you can proactively avoid them.
In this three-hour advanced session, you will:
- Identify the top design and construction mistakes contractors and designers make that lead to moisture, comfort or performance-related call-backs.
- Explore best practices for cost-effective approaches to building homes that are energy efficient and free of moisture-related problems.
- Discuss the relationships between water and air barriers, moisture vaper transmission, condensation, material permeability and insulation selection.
- Illustrate how to properly flash windows and doors to meet new code requirements for continuous exterior insulation that results in building durability and optimal water management.
