Tech Bytes: A Hands-On, How-To Technology Experience

Tech Bytes sessions at the NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) are the place to learn about the latest tech products, applications and platforms through a hands-on experience. During these sessions, you’ll learn about social media platforms, virtual reality, tech gadgets, video applications and so much more. These sessions are all about hands-on, how-to learning, and we’ve packed nearly 30 Tech Bytes presentations into the three-day show.

Less Theory. More “How-To.”
Each Tech Bytes presentation is interactive and geared to show you the practical side of various tech tools and “how to” apply them to your business. Some of this year’s topics will include:

  • 3D virtual tours
  • AdWords, PPC, SEO & Google analytics
  • Apps for sales & productivity
  • Digital site plans & online home/lot reservation systems
  • Drones
  • Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat and other social media platforms
  • Virtual reality … and more!

The Tech Bytes Experience.
The Tech Bytes classroom is unlike any other. Each room offers two distinct areas—a large, main presentation area and a tech bar. The first thing you’ll notice is the large presentation stage where the sessions take place. The stage displays screens so that speakers can show a presentation on one screen while conducting live demonstrations on others.

Speakers will start with a short 20- to 30-minute presentation on stage, but afterwards, many speakers will move to the tech bar area to hold “office hours” and work directly with interested people. This small group setting allows for extended Q&As and demonstrations so you can get additional guidance to put what you learned into practice.

A fun feature of the tech bar is that it is set up for people to plug in and participate. If a speaker discusses virtual reality (VR), for example, after the presentation they will move over to the small group area to offer demonstrations, where you can try out VR gear.

Debuted at IBS 2017, Tech Bytes presentations and office hours quickly became one of the most popular parts of the IBS education program. Tech Bytes are available to attendees with Full Registration or a one-day education with Expo Pass package valid for the day of the session you wish to attend.
