Blue Heron Construction builder/designer Tyler Jones discusses the green building technologies in The 2015 New American Home; a combination of many technologies. The most important aspect is the building envelope; a closed cell foam roof system which acts as a vapor barrier with a UV coating to reflect the sun’s rays off the roof.
They will also use a window and door system by Sierra Pacific with a passive solar design to help regulate the temperature of the home.
There is no silver bullet, the green building concepts used to design the home are a result of the teamwork between different technologies and methods.
